Punching Robot Arms

I built this fairly quickly. It just a set of robot arms that will punch when I use the mouse 1 or mouse 2 buttons. I generally like how it turned out. :)

Both of them deal with ragdolls and trying to make them move in a somewhat human fashion. Nothing much to say other than I like how they turned out. I just wish I had more to say.

I'm trying to figure out ways of generating income at the moment. The economy is a major downer and that makes it difficult to make money in the traditional sense were you go somewhere for 8 hours and get paid for it. If anyone pays attention to my blog at all, and I'm pretty sure no one does at this point, I'd like to get some advice on creative ways to make income. I've already got a few semi-passive methods already in place, but I need to amp it up a bit.

That's why I would like to see if there is any interest in a Garry's mod mech battle machinima style short movie. I'm already fairly good at wire mod, mech design and building functional moving parts. I figure I can build basically anything I want. What I'm missing is some pilots. This is a Guntank WIP. I do plan on finishing this project because I love the gundam series. Right now its just a statue with wheels but I want to create working arms, shoulder cannons, and a head. I want to make this a drivable Guntank with mouse aimed turret arms, WASD steering, and jump thursters with a gyroscope balanced feature. Once I get the torso complete, I'll begin wiring on the arms. I'm really looking forward to finishing this project. Until I get around to it, here is the preview.

Cantido's Red Mech ( Incomplete ) -GMOD-

This mech is meant to be an incomplete product. I'm trying to build smaller and this mech turned out to be about 2 player lengths high. I'm toying around with small props so that I can eventually make something about 1 player length high. most of the props I used were from Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat or Portal. I think the only Half life 2 props I used were the jar props on the arm.

Cantido's pod controlled mouse aimed turret - GMOD -

This is a video demonstration of a pod controlled mouse aimed turret. It has an Active and Inactive setting. When Inactive, the thrusters receive Pitch and Yaw outputs. The Pitch has been adjusted to -50 degrees for this demonstration. When active, the thrusters receive Elevation and Bearing outputs. The turret will face in any direction I am facing. The Roll was stabilized for both settings. A ranger was used as a laser sight.

Cantido's Mech Arms WIP- Garry's Mod

This is a half finished set of mech arms that I've constructed for possible use in future mech projects. This is only to demonstrate how effective it is in tracking exactly where I look. I plan on using this system as a skeleton in the future.

Cantido's Blue Raptor Mech (WIP) GMOD

This is a work in progress, I have not finished the legs yet. It's missing the feet, the elastics to keep the legs in place, and I need to tune a walking chip before I will post a complete demonstration video. I will be using Sestze's hip based bipedal walking chip in the final version. if you haven't seen it, I would suggest you check it out. It's pretty impressive and will work for any bipedal design after you fine tune the variables. :) I can't wait.

I just wanted to demo this project to show everyone what I've been working on. The one thing that I like is the arms are mouse aimed turrets and will aim where ever I look! :) I have a shipping container in the background to illustrate that this mech should stand roughly about as tall it by the time I am done. I may make a tracker camera for my next video so that I can have it tag along while I show off my mech.

Cantido's Rainbow quad legged walker - GMOD

Before you say it, yes the name sounds a little gay, but I color coded the legs to the corresponding control panel that makes it walk. This was really just a test for myself to see if I could make something walk with the use of hydraulics. this was not a complete success because it tends to go left, and can only move forward. I didn't think about adding a turning system to it. My computer crashed before I could save it so I'm pretty bummed. It took me about 5 to 6 hours to build, test, and play with it.

If a few people show interest in how I made it walk, I may make a tutorial demostrating how to create a loop with accumulators and greater than gates. (but by saying this,you get a hint on how I made it walk!)

This is my debut video I captured from Garry's Mod. A gundam head I made in garrys mod. :)

I made this gundam head to demonstrate its possible uses. This is a prototype head that I may use in the final version of my prototype gundam type robot. In the end, my goal is to make a robot that can walk, turn, aim and use gcombat. I want to make the gundam easy to use and as stable as possible.
